GP Rüebliland – Suisse
Après un mois d’août moins chargé pour AG2R CITROËN U19 TEAM depuis Aubel Thimister Stavelot, les coureurs vont pouvoir enfin remettre un dossard à l’occasion du GP Rüebliland, en Suisse, du 3 au 5 septembre. Cette épreuve a révélé de nombreux grands talents en effet aujourd’hui chez les professionnels. Sam Oomen vainqueur en 2012, Mathieu Van Der Poel en 2013, Marc Hirshi en 2015, Tom Pidcock en 2017 ou encore Quinn Simmons en 2019. Du côté de l’équipe, Valentin Retailleau, actuellement stagiaire chez AG2R Citroën TEAM, a remporté la 4ème étape en 2018, ainsi que 5ème du classement général. En 2020, Enzo Paleni (actuellement dans la Conti Groupama FDJ) avait également terminé 2ème de la 1ère étape ainsi que du classement général.
After August with less races for AG2R Citroën U19 TEAM, the riders will have the opportunity to race the GP Rüebliland, in Switzerland, from 3rd to 5th of September. This race have revealed of lot of talents today in the professional riders. Sam Oomen winner in 2012, Mathieu Van Der Poel in 2013, Marc Hirshi in 2015, Tom Pidcock in 2017 or Quinn Simmons in 2019. In the team, Valentin Retaillleau, professional rider in AG2R Citroën TEAM in 2022, won the 4th stage in 2018, and finished 5th in the general ranking. In 2020, Enzo Paleni (Conti Groupama FDJ) finished 2nd in the 1st stage as well as in the general ranking.
De la jeunesse au départ
L’équipe AG2R Citroën U19 sera composée majoritairement de Juniors 1, afin de leur faire prendre de l’expérience. Mathias Sanlaville (Cours la Ville Cyclisme), Champion Auvergne Rhône Alpes 2021 et Yanis Seguin (VC Saintais), double vainqueur sur Bizkaiko Itzulia, emmèneront le groupe. Ils seront en effet accompagnés de Maxence Place (Sprint 2000 Charleroi), qui s’est illustré sur Aubel Thimister Stavelot en terminant 7ème du classement général. Il vient également de remporter la première victoire de sa saison, lors de la course de côte juniors de Couvin. Il y aura aussi Léandre Lozouet (UC Bricquebec), récent 12ème aux Championnats de France et Estevan Delaunay (ASPTT Châteauroux), qui enfilera le maillot de l’équipe pour la deuxième fois cette année, après Menen-Menen en juillet. Ils seront accompagnés de Grégoire Mahieu, junior première année, qui, pour l’occasion, est en effet invité au sein de l’équipe et découvrira ainsi les courses internationales à leurs côtés.

La première étape du GP Rüebliland sera longue de 95 km avec 923 mètres de dénivelé positif. Le départ sera donné à 13h30 de Schneisingen. L’arrivée est ensuite estimée autour de 15h46.
The first stage of GP Rüebliland will be long of 95km with 923 meters of elevation gain. The start will be in Schneisingen at 1.30pm for an estimated finish around 3.45pm.
L’étape 2.1 du GP Rüebliland
L’étape 2.1 sera longue de 84,90 km avec 704 mètres de dénivelé positif. Le départ sera donné à Birr à 9h45. L’arrivée est ensuite estimée autour de 11h46.
The stage 2.1 will be long of 84,90km with 704 meters of elevation gain. The start will be in Birr at 9.45 am for an estimated finish around 11.45 am.
L’étape 2.2 du GP Rüebliland
L’étape 2.2 sera un contre-la-montre individuel long de 9,8 km avec 83 mètres de dénivelé positif. Les départs débuteront à partir de 16h00, autour de Birr également.
The stage 2.2 will be an individual time trial of 9,8km with 83 meters of elevation gain. The starts will be from 4 pm, around Birr as well.
La troisième étape du GP Rüebliland
La troisième étape sera la plus longue et difficile avec en effet 120 km et 1700 mètres de dénivelé positif. Le départ sera donné à Langenthal à 9h pour une arrivée ensuite estimée autour de 11h56.
The third stage will be the longest and hardest one with 120 km and 1700 meters of elevation gain. The start will be in Langenthal at 9 am for an estimated finish around 11.56 am.

David Giraud, directeur sportif sur l’épreuve, nous livre ses impressions « Le GP Rüebliland qui aura lieu ce WE sera l’occasion pour nous de confronter une équipe jeune au gratin mondial. 9 équipes nationales seront au départ. Mais certains des meilleurs américains, anglais et danois seront là aussi sous leurs couleurs de club. Nous ne serons donc qu’un petit outsider mais nous comptons bien être acteurs. Maxence Place aura la responsabilité de faire un bon classement général. Tandis que les autres coureurs jouirons d’une certaine liberté pour essayer de bien figurer sur les différentes étapes et pourquoi pas d’aller en décrocher une. La prise d’expérience sera grande quoi qu’il en soit, le reste sera du bonus. «
